Weald View
Pluckley, Kent

Located in the village of Pluckley in Kent, this Caravan and Motorhome Club Certified Location is situated on a working farm and offers scenic views across The Weald of Kent, hence its name. With five touring pitches available for caravans and motorhomes, this is a beautiful and secluded spot for short trips away in the ‘Garden of England’.
However, things may get a little eerie when you realise this campsite is located in what is often described as ‘the most haunted village in England!
Featured in the Guinness Book of World Records, Pluckley is reportedly the most haunted village in England. With no fewer than fourteen ghosts apparently existing in such a small concentrated area, it most certainly could be…
Reported ghosts including ‘The Screaming Man’, ‘The Highwayman’, ‘The Elderly Woman’, ‘The Schoolmaster’, ‘The Walker’ and ‘The Red Lady’, have led well-known TV programmes such as Most Haunted, Strange But True, and Ghost Hunters International to visit the area.
For those who dare to visit Pluckley too, Weald View makes for the perfect place to stay. It’s free from ghosts (well as far as we know!) and offers grass pitches with electric hookups to Caravan and Motorhome Club members from just £17.00.
If you plan on booking a pitch at Weald View, you will have to book for next year as its season finishes today…strange that?

Abbey Farm Caravan Park
Llangollen, North Wales

Just a stone’s throw from the ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey, Abbey Farm Caravan Park is also situated on a working farm. Due to its proximity to the ruins of the abbey, it may well be just as spooky too…
Abbey Farm Caravan Park is just a three minute walk from a place where ghostly apparitions have been reported to have been seen and disembodied voices have alleged to have been heard.
Many myths and legends exist for Valle Crucis including Owain Glyndwr’s ghost allegedly appearing and people claiming to have seen apparitions of monks in procession. Whilst a story dating back to the 1930s alleges the front of the ruins were bathed in a circle of light whilst being surrounded by figures wearing golden clothing and helmets. Spooky.
Whether you believe the ghost stories of the area or not, Abbey Farm Caravan Park still makes for a great place to stay. Owned and run by the Davies family, it is situated just one mile outside of the picturesque town of Llangollen and offers a wealth of activities for outdoor lovers. Whether you’re interested in walking, sailing, white water rafting or mountain biking, you will be able to find places to take part in these activities nearby.
Suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans, Abbey Farm Caravan Park offers facilities including electric hook ups, central heated toilet and shower blocks, and communal washing up areas on a choice of hard standing or grass pitches.

Huntly Castle Caravan Park
Huntly, Aberdeenshire, AB54 4UJ

Huntly Castle Caravan Park is a level, beautifully landscaped location in the heart of the Grampian countryside and close to the River Deveron. It’s just a five minute walk away from the shops and attractions of Huntly town centre, attractions that include the local bowling green, the regular farmers’ market and Huntly Castle itself. And it’s Huntly Castle where things get a little eerie…
Once one of the most impressive homes in Scotland, Huntly Castle is said to be haunted due to a peculiar incident in the 16th century. In 1578, the 5th Earl of Huntly suddenly collapsed during a game of football in the castle grounds. After being carried inside, he began vomiting black blood. However, this didn’t last long, as sadly, he soon passed away. It was after this that events took a supernatural turn…
Everyone in the castle started complaining of an icy chill in the rooms near the Earl’s body. One of the mourners was shivering in front of the fire before mysteriously dropping down as if dead. Two more mourners entered the Earl’s room and collapsed in the same way. When they woke up, all they remembered was a cold, dark feeling before they passed out.
The supernatural events didn’t end there, shuffling and scraping was heard in the Earl’s locked and empty bedroom above. The Earl’s brother went to the room to investigate and before he had even entered the doorway, the candles he had taken with him had begun to flicker.
Of course, the events after the Earl of Huntly’s death took place way back in 1578, so if you want to take your touring vehicle and investigate, we think you will be safe. At Huntly Castle Caravan Park you will find pitches for up to 59 caravans and motorhomes, plus facilities including gas, Wi-Fi, electric hook up, a toilet block, laundry facilities, and dish washing area. In addition to this, there is also fishing and a children’s play area on site, and mountain bike trails, pony trekking, and a falconry centre nearby.
